Taught by women, for women, this class is for new female shooters with little or no knowledge of handguns or those who have not shot in a long time.  Learning with a NRA-Certified female instructor in a relaxed, unrushed and non-judgmental atmosphere, you will end the day feeling comfortable and confident handling and shooting handguns.

Description

Course Overview:

By women, for women – this class is for women who are completely new to shooting or who have not shot in a long time, and wish to learn about handguns and shooting.  Course is taught by a female NRA-Certified Instructor.  All students will receive a NRA Basic Pistol Course book and a NRA Certificate of Completion upon successful completion of the course.  Course fee includes classroom instruction, lane rental charges, use of a .22 caliber pistol, ammo and target.  Students may use their own handgun if they prefer.  If other than .22 caliber, ammo cost will be additional and must be purchased from the range.

Cost: $150 per person

Course Description:

Classroom Instruction

  1.  Handgun nomenclature and operation
  2.  Handgun action types
  3.  Rules for safe firearm handling and use
  4.  Fundamentals of handgun shooting
  5.  Selection/Maintenance/Storage of a handgun
  6.  Home safety
  7.  How to clean your gun

Live Fire Component (Mandatory) 

Students must:

  1. Meet procedural safety requirements; and
  2. Demonstrate marksmanship skill (70% accuracy rating required).
